On the Wednesday that UNC won against Duke, chaos broke out on campus. It was insane! Me and my roommate were watching the game and as soon as the end of the second quarter was over, this crazy roar rose up out of our dorm. We live in one of the larger dorms so maybe that was the reason for how loud it we got, but it was unbelievable. As soon as the game was over and we heard the roars, we took off. Our destination was Franklin Street.
We started running as soon as we cleared our suit door, and continued onto the stairs. We ran for a while but couldn't make it all the way to Franklin. Screams and shouts of joy were rising up everywhere. If an outsider were to come on campus and see all of the sutdents running in one direction and hear our yells, they would have thought that someone had pulled out a gun on campus or something of the like. It really was scary running with all of those people and hearing students scream all around you. But knowing that we had won against Duke, made it heaven!
Once up on Franklin, it was even more crowded than on Halloween night. When we win against Duke, our tradition is to jump over fires on the street. So there were these people in the middle of Franklin street, making fires and jumping over them. You would have thought eveyone was on drugs! lol I'm so glad I went, because it will be the experience of a life time!
